All Driveway vs. All American — by Dan Lynn
By Dan Lynn
Sometimes I worry that we're playing the game at too low a level — too small. Like we're the best basketball players in the neighborhood, proud to win in our own driveway, when there's a whole national stage out there.
Do we need to think bigger? Have bigger conversations, take more risks, work harder? Be more confident? Travel more, partner more, raise more, spend more? In other words — are we "All Driveway" when we should be "All American"?
When my kids were young and played sports, I'd tell them the same thing before every big game: "Just give it everything you have. Leave it all on the field."
So I have to ask myself that same question about the game I'm playing now — business. Are we leaving it all on the field? Am I, really?
It's time to think bigger and play harder.
